There has been a recall of the Home Decorators Collection Grand Duchess Balsam Fir 5000 LED Pre-Lit Artificial Christmas Tree due to burn or fire hazard.

This is a seven-and-a-half foot, or 2.3 metre, tree and consumers are advised to stop using the recalled product and return it to a local Home Depot Canada store for a full refund.

The Christmas tree’s control panel or electrical cord plug may overheat, posing a burn or fire hazard. As of November 21, 2023 the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

The company reported that 883 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between October and November of this year.
