The Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre “Light It Up!” campaign kicked off with Nutrien contributing $50,000.
The annual holiday campaign, and 2023 being the second year, they are asking the community to enjoy the holiday season, while also raising food and funds.
SFLBC says 41 per cent of users accessing the food bank in Saskatoon are children under the age of 18, and the demand for Emergency Food Hampers is growing.
Today (Tuesday) is also Giving Tuesday which comes after the American Thanksgiving weekend of Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping.
The most wanted food items include baby food & formula, canned fruits and vegetables, hearty soups and stews, whole grain pasta and cereals, canned protein, and peanut butter.
