A 46-year-old Assiniboia man faces several charges including three counts of sexual assault related to incidents involving three male youths under 12 years old that occurred during the mid-2010s.
This is in relation to the advisory from RCMP regarding an increased police presence in Assiniboia. Saskatchewan RCMP’s General Investigation Section (GIS) with the assistance of the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) and the Coronach and Assiniboia RCMP executed a search warrant at a home in Assiniboia and one adult male was arrested without incident at the residence.
It was determined that a home-based daycare was operating at the same location.
On Tuesday a 46 year old Assiniboia man was charged with three counts each sexual assault, sexual interference, make sexually explicit material available to a person under the age of 16. He is also charged with two counts invitation to sexual touching and one count each voyeurism and possession of child pornography.
The accused was remanded into custody until his next scheduled appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial Court Wednesday morning.
The RCMP says as part of this investigation , and any other investigation into reports of sexual offences against children or other vulnerable populations, Saskatchewan RCMP will work to determine if there are additional victims.
