This is Canada Safe Driving Week—a reminder to follow the rules of the road.
A special focus in Saskatchewan continues to be impaired driving, whether it be alcohol or drugs.
Between January and October, RCMP and Police pulled over 2,643 drivers who had recently consumed alcohol or drugs. 1,560 of those drivers were charged criminally for driving over .08. while the remaining 1,083 were issued roadside suspensions.
Saskatchewan RCMP and municipal police will be conducting high visibility enforcement on roads and highways for the entire month, and especially during the holiday season.
