Last Tuesday’s Crown petroleum and natural gas public offering has raised $17,230,215 for the province.

Forty of the 70 parcels posted for this offering received acceptable bids. The most interest was generated in the Estevan area. Seventeen leases and one exploration license yielded $11,277,440. These bids covered 15,594 hectares.

In an area near Estevan, Millennium Land Limited made the highest dollars-per-hectare bid in this offering, being $10,084,000 or nearly $8,000 per hectare.

Bids for leases and licenses in the Lloydminster area raised $3,552,733. The bids covered 13 leases and three exploration licenses totaling 3,917 hectares.
Acceptable bids in the Kindersley area generated $2,400,041 for three leases and three exploration licenses totaling 9,232 hectares.

Five of the six public offerings scheduled for this year are now complete, earning the province $65,464,000 in revenue. At this time last fiscal year, oil and gas public offerings had generated $46,105,597 in revenue.

The next date for a public offering in Saskatchewan is scheduled for February 6th, which will feature 46 leases covering 11,246 hectares.
