An interim Police chief has been appointed by the Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioners with Chief Troy Cooper retiring at the end of the year. As of the new year, Acting Deputy Chief Dave Haye will serve as Interim chief until the Board’s recruitment for a new Chief of Police has concluded.
A news release from the Board of Police Commissioners says Haye has been a member of the Saskatoon Police Service for 39 years, taking on many different roles in all areas of the Service including the Integrated Intelligence Unite, the Integrated Drug Unit and Watch Commander. He was promoted to the rank of Superintendent in 2016 and oversaw both the Criminal Investigations Division and Operational Support and then was appointed Acting Deputy Chief last September.
