A 61-year-old Saskatoon man was taken into police custody yesterday, after two people canvassing door-to-door reported an armed male at a house they visited in Stonebridge.
The call came in at 4:10 p.m. police responded to a report of a man with a rifle. At 5:16 pm. Saskatoon Police issued an advisory of a weapons investigation in the area of Rempel Lane with a significant police presence. Residents living nearby were asked to shelter-in-place for their safety.
After negotiating with the man at the home, he was taken into custody when he exited the home. A search located several firearms at the home along with ammunition.
The matter is still under investigation.
