Two police vehicles were rammed on Thursday during a Carrot River RCMP response to an attempted theft in Arborfield.
Police were told the suspect attempted to steal fuel from a large fuel tank and was confronted by a property representative and then he began chasing the representative in a vehicle.
There were no physical injuries.
The RCMP report that the suspect was found in a parked vehicle and then as officers approached the suspect rammed two police vehicles and an unoccupied truck.
The officers in the police vehicles received minor injuries.
Shortly afterwards, the suspect vehicle came to a stop and a man was taken into custody.
It is alleged he assaulted officers while being arrested and initially resisted when they tried to put him in a cell.
He also refused to comply with a breath test.
The charges for 29-year-old Tristan Edge from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta include assaulting a peace officer, resisting a peace officer, and dangerous driving.
He appears in Melfort Provincial Court on Monday.
