The Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre which provides Kindergarten to Grade 12 online education, began this fall with more than 2,000 full time students and 3,500 part-time students.
A news release from the province says most of the students are in grades 10 to 12.
Sask DLC Chief Operating Officer, Darren Gasper, says, “We know that each of our students is unique and online learning provides the ability for students to explore interests and gain new skills so that they can go on to be successful adults.”
All courses use ministry approved curriculum.
Sask DLC works with local school divisions to ensure students have access to online learning and other supports, including being able to participate in local school athletics and arts, take Driver Education locally and participate in local graduation ceremonies.
Registration is open for the second semester, which begins February 2nd from Grades 10 to 12.
