A man and woman are facing several firearms-related charges following a Saskatoon Police Guns and Gangs Unit investigation on Wednesday evening. Just before 7 that night, officers with the Guns and Gangs Unit with assistance from the Air Support and Tactical Support Units and a Crime Reduction Team, took enforcement action on a parked vehicle in the 200 block of Primrose Drive. A man wanted on several criminal code warrants was in the vehicle and believed to be in possession of a firearm. The 36-year-old man and the 23-year-old woman who was his passenger were arrested without incident.
Along with the firearms-related charges, the man was also arrested on 23 outstanding charges from criminal code warrants including unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, impaired driving and drug trafficking. The woman was also found to be in breach of her probation.
