A Toronto man has been arrested in connection to a jewellery store armed robbery in Saskatoon over the noon hour today (Mon). The Saskatoon Police Service received a call at 12:45 saying a man wearing a mask and wielding a crowbar entered a jewellery store in the 100 block of 21st Street East. GMG Jewellers is on that street. Officers were told he smashed a display case, stole merchandise and then took off.
Two nearby Patrol officers noticed the suspect fleeing prior to the report to police and placed him under arrest. He was transported to Detention and police report that the stolen items were located and seized. The 27-year-old is charged with armed robbery, wearing a disguise to commit an offence, mischief and breach of conditions.
