The Regina Police Service says a 54-year-old man has been charged with Sexual Interference and Sexual Assault.
The investigation by the Regina Children’s Justice Centre, began January 4th, when police received a report that two girls, 12 and 13 years old had been sexually assaulted by an employee of a business in the 400 block of Albert Street North.
The youths told police that the assault took place in the back room of the business and that the employee had been calling and texting them for several weeks prior. The youths first met the suspect when they were at the business which offers entertainment services, primarily, to children.
Naveed Irshad is charged with two counts of sexual interference and two counts of sexual assault on a person under 16. Irshad was released on conditions and is back in court February 13th.
The Regina Children’s Justice Centre is a specialized integrated unit of the police service that combines police investigators with social workers to investigate allegations of child abuse.
