A tentative contract agreement has been reached between the province and Saskatchewan’s physicians. The Saskatchewan Medical Association says it’s a four-year contract which covers April of 2022 to the end of March 2026. SMA President, Dr. Annette Epp, recommends that members accept the agreement which outlines priorities raised by physicians during the negotiations. The ratification vote closes February 2nd.
Health Minister Everett Hindley considers the contract a fair and competitive compensation package which supports the government’s retention and recruitment efforts. He says, “We value the physicians in our province and appreciate the commitment and dedication they have shown over the past number of years.”
