Staff Sargeant Stephen Hurst with the Prince Albert RCMP says officers faces different threats daily but having a firearm pointed at you when you have responded to an emergency call is one of the most significant.

RCMP say that’s what happened when officers responded around 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon to a report of a robbery at a home in Little Red River.

When officers arrived a woman was in the driveway with a gun which she allegedly pointed at the officers in the police vehicle. No shots were fired.

Investigation has determined prior to that there was a fight between two women and a man at the home during which the male pointed a firearm at one of the women and robbed her of some cash.

After pointing the weapon at police, the woman went back inside and eventually five people inside were arrested. Police located and seized a firearm in the residence.

As a result of further investigation, 30-year-old Bradley Naytowhow from the community of Little Red River and 19-year-old Charlotte Cook are both facing a variety of weapons charges while Cook is also charged with two counts of assault on police office with a weapon.

Two adult males and one adult female were also arrested on outstanding arrest warrants from Saskatoon Police Service and Prince Albert Police Service.
