Health Canada has issued a recall for vertical blinds made in Canada called “La Verticalerie”. They don’t meet the Corded Window Coverings Regulations and pose a strangulation hazard. Health Canada says young children may pull looped cords around their neck or become entangled, causing a strangulation hazard and even death. The blinds come in a wide range of custom colours and sizes.
If you have these blinds, take them down and contact La Verticlaerie for a return and product modification. About 560 units have been sold in Canada from last April through December.
For more information, consumers can contact “La Verticalerie” by telephone at 450-635-7775 Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4 pm (ET), or by email at laverticalerie@yahoo.ca.
