Three people from Melville are facing drug and weapons charges in connection to a joint investigation by the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Yorkton Trafficking Response Team, the Yorkton Municipal General Investigation Section and the Melville RCMP Detachment. On Wednesday, January 17th, police pulled over a vehicle in Yorkton which the RCMP says resulted in meth, fentanyl and cash being seized and three people arrested. A search warrant was then executed at a home in Melville where more drugs and cash along with prohibited weapons were seized. Officers report that in total, 28 grams of meth, two grams of fentanyl, cash and brass knuckles were seized.
Forty-three-year-old Corey Walter Lambie, 22-year-old Amber Caitlin Gettel and 35-year-old Jesse Dean Starr are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. Gettel and Starr are also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and Starr faces a third charge of possession of fentanyl. Starr and Gettel made their first court appearances last Friday in Yorkton and Lambie is scheduled for February 26th.
