The Saskatoon Public Library (SPL) Board says it has received the resignation of Carol Cooley, the Director of Libraries and CEO.
In a Monday afternoon news release, the SPL Board said it appreciates the many contributions Cooley made during her tenure, such as overseeing the design of the new central library project and the modernization of multiple library spaces.
Beth Cote has been appointed as the Interim Director of Libraries and CEO. She has been the Director of Public Services since 2016. The search for a permanent replacement will begin immediately.
The SPL news release states the new central library project remains a top priority for the Board. Construction is slated to begin this summer, with a projected opening in 2027.
