He may have allowed four goals in the first two periods, but Max Hildebrand (pictured) keyed the comeback with his netminding as the Prince Albert Raiders rallied for a 5-4 shootout triumph over the visiting Saskatoon Blades Friday night.
Hildebrand stopped 17 shots in the third and overtime periods, six of them in the five-minute O-T, then turned aside two of three shootout attempts by the Bridge City Bunch as P-A ended a five-game winless skid. Krzysztof Macias notched the shootout winner as the Raiders improved to 20-22-4 for the season, keeping pace with Calgary in a tie for the eighth and final playoff spot in the W-H-L. Brandon Lisowsky extended his consecutive game goal-scoring streak to seven for the Blue and Gold with two markers while Tyler Parr and Easton Armstrong also managed to beat Hildebrand during regulation time. It was only the third time the Blades failed to win when leading after two periods out of 31 such situations this season. Saskatoon out-shot Prince Albert 45-25, but their record dropped to 31-9-5 for the season. There was a milestone of note from the game as Bridge City Bunch captain Trevor Wong had two assists to reach 200 points as a member of the Blue and Gold – the 48th player in Blades’ franchise history to reach 200 points. Lisowsky is one point away from 200. Saskatoon welcomes the Raiders to SaskTel Centre Saturday for the back-end of the home-and-home series. Game time is 7 o’clock with CJWW’s broadcast beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the Palliser Rooms E-Q-3 Cutting Edge Pre-Game Show. Following are the audio highlights from CJWW’s Friday broadcast along with Post-Game Show comments from head coach Brennan Sonne and the official game summary courtesy the W-H-L…..
