Emergency crews responded to an industrial accident on Wednesday where a building that was under construction has collapsed.
At 1:40pm, police, fire, and ambulance services responded to the call from a building in the 100 block of Horner Crescent, which is in Saskatoon’s Evergreen neighborhood. Initial information received was that concrete slabs were being installed for flooring when the building collapsed five storeys.
On arrival, fire crews were advised that all construction personnel were accounted for but needing rescue from upper storeys. A firefighter paramedic was put into position to rescue a person on the roof, and did so at 2:38 p.m.
Medavie Health Services West says two men, 52 and 36 years old, were transported to hospital in serious but stable condition.
