The 2024 SaskTel Tankard, Provincial Men’s Curling Championship, continues today and runs through Sunday at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon. Twelve teams are taking part, split into two pools of six teams each for preliminary round-robin play. The top two teams from each pool then advance to the Page Playoffs with the champion moving on to represent Saskatchewan at the Montana’s Brier in Regina in March. Draws today go at 9 a.m., 2 and 7 p.m.

The Western Hockey League returns to action tomorrow when 10 games are scheduled, including the Saskatoon Blades hosting the Medicine Hat Tigers. Game time is 7 p.m. at SaskTel Centre. CJWW’s broadcast starts at 6:45 p.m. with the Palliser Rooms E-Q-3 Cutting Edge Pre-Game Show and the play-by-play at 7 p.m. The Blue and Gold have 34 wins, 9 losses, 5 extra time losses for 73 points…good for 1st place in the Eastern Conference. Medicine Hat has 29 wins, 14 losses, 4 extra time losses for 62 points…good for 2nd place in the East.
The Prince Albert Raiders are idle until tomorrow when they visit the Moose Jaw Warriors. P-A has 21 wins, 23 losses, 4 extra time losses for 46 points…good for 8th place in the Eastern Conference. Moose Jaw has 28 wins, 16 losses, 2 extra time losses for 58 points…good for 4th place in the East. The Raiders’ next home game is Saturday when they welcome Medicine Hat. First face-off is 7 p.m. at the Art Hauser Centre.
