Almost $331,600 was fraudulently taken from Creative Saskatchewan last August. This comes from the government’s most recent quarter reports on losses of public moneys within ministries and Crown Corporations. The report says banking information was changed by someone impersonating as a client and a payment was re-redirected to a different bank account. Police were contacted and the investigation continues. Creative Saskatchewan has so far recovered over $118,000.
The report also listed a loss to Saskatchewan Housing Corporation. It is estimated between 2019 and June of last year, there was suspected misappropriation of over $5,000 for payments made to a fake vendor for work orders not completed. A Cumberland House Housing Authority manager was fired and police are investigating.
