Saskatoon Police report that a suspicious death over the weekend is now being considered a homicide, making this Saskatoon’s first homicide of 2024. Last year, there were 12 homicides, and charges have been laid in nine of them.
On Saturday morning around 2:30, officers responded to a home in the 600 block of Lisgar Avenue about an aggravated assault involving firearms. When officers arrived were executing a search warrant, police say an officer shot their firearm. A 34-year-old man was hit and transported to hospital in what was believed to be stable condition. Two females were arrested at the scene, and officers found a man’s body inside the home.
A 32-year-old woman has been charged with first degree murder. There will be an autopsy on Tuesday and the identity of the deceased is pending.
