Battlefords RCMP were alerted on Monday about human remains being located outside a home on Red Pheasant Cree Nation. After an exhaustive search, RCMP say evidence associated with the investigation was located in a treed area along a roadway on the Cree nation and the investigation is being deemed a suspicious death.
There was an autopsy on Wednesday and the deceased person has been identified as 44-year-old Candie Pritchard of Rabbit Lake.
Anyone with information about where Candie Pritchard was between January 1st and February 5th of this year, and at what time, is asked to contact the RCMP or leave an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
The Saskatchewan RCMP states that this investigation is in addition to the multiple homicides and other serious files the Major Crimes team has been investigating in recent weeks including three separate homicides at the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation, Deschambault Lake, and in North Battleford, which occurred within 29 hours of each other, stretching their resources.
