There is good food, great company, and a chance to purchase some local art, all while helping those less fortunate.
The 30th annual Artists Against Hunger Art Auction & Dinner is coming up March 9th at TCU Place with proceed to the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre.
Executive Director of the Food Bank, Laurie O’Connor says it’s the 30th and final event of its kind and she thanks Artists Against Hunger for helping to feed people in need.
The evening includes silent and live auctions with art pieces which have been donated by local artists.
Tickets are available through Eventbrite.
O’Connor notes that up to 23,000 people a month use their Emergency Food Hamper Program.
The Food Bank & Learning Centre also has other programs and services, like the Urban Agriculture Program which is the garden in downtown Saskatoon which adds thousands of pounds of nutritious food to hampers each year.
There is also the Clothing Depot, the Creating Opportunities Strategy which helps people prepare for employment, nutrition education, and the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program.
O’Connor adds that volunteers are always welcomed.
