Kitscoty, Lloydminster and Vermillion RCMP have made an arrest after a motorhome valued at $220,000 was stolen from a business in Kitscoty. It was determined the motorhome was stolen at some point between Friday and Monday. An RCMP news release says the motorhome was seen driving between Vermilion, Kitscoty and Lloydminster. Police attempted to pull it over multiple times, but it failed to stop and continued to avoid police.
A tip was received from the public that the motorhome was in Manville, Alberta. A contingency of RCMP officers including a police dog team located the vehicle and the driver was arrested. Twenty-five year old Baily Devon Paranteau of Heinsburg, Alberta is charged with flight from a peace officer, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and three counts of failing to comply with a court order.
It turns out he also had other criminal code offences from separate incidents around the same time period in the Lloydminster area, and separately, Parenteau was also charged in relation to a Fire Hall break and enter in Islay, Alberta. It’s alleged he stole the truck, which has since been recovered and returned to the Fire Hall.
