The Saskatoon Police Service posted to their social media a story about a puppy being returned to its owner after it was stolen.
Police say shortly before 11 p.m. on February 24th officers responded to a call of an unknown problem on 31st Street West.
When they arrived, they found an abandoned SUV with Alberta plates that had previously been reported stolen. Their investigation led police to a home in the 100 block of 31st Street West where two suspects were located and arrested.
Later that shift, one of the officers that had been investigating the stolen SUV came across a post on social media about a stolen puppy and recognized the suspect names to be the same as those arrested earlier in the night. Officers then returned to the home where the two suspects had been arrested and found the puppy waiting inside.
The owner was tracked down and the Saskatoon Police Service says he was “overjoyed to be reunited with their puppy again.”
