A routine traffic stop on the Fishing Lake First Nation last Wednesday turned into a drug trafficking investigation.
An RCMP news release a search of the driver and the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 225 grams of methamphetamine, a hunting-style knife, and drug paraphernalia.
Twenty-seven-year-old Ashley Smoke from the Fishing Lake First Nation has been remanded in custody until his next scheduled court appearance on Thursday. He is charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000
