According to a Leger poll, 69 per cent of Canadians oppose the federal carbon tax hike on April 1st.
That from the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.
The CTF says the federal government is increasing the carbon tax to 17 cents per litre of gasoline, 21 cents per litre of diesel and 15 cents per cubic metre of natural gas on April 1.
The Leger poll asked Canadians if they support or oppose the upcoming carbon tax hike. And while 69 per cent oppose the carbon tax hike, when you remove Quebec and British Columbia, where the CTF says the federal carbon tax isn’t directly applied, 72 per cent of Canadians oppose the upcoming tax hike.
CTF Director Franco Terrazzano says, “The poll is clear: the vast majority of Canadians, across every province and all demographics, oppose the upcoming federal carbon tax hike.”
