A 27-year-old B-C resident was arrested and convicted on several charges related to a sophisticated drug trafficking operation.
In a news release, Saskatchewan R-C-M-P say Nikola Galic of Burnaby, B-C, was the primary focus of a joint investigation between the R-C-M-P’s Federal Serious and Organized Crime (FSOC) unit and the Regina Police Service that implicated multiple individuals across Western Canada. Galic was convicted on March 20 and sentenced to nine years in jail, a judgement negotiated by the Public Prosecution Service of Canada and accepted by Court of King’s Bench. The operation involved transporting illicit cocaine and methamphetamine, at the kilogram level, from British Columbia to various parts of Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Galic was charged with one count each of trafficking in a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, conspiracy to commit the indictable offence of trafficking a controlled substance and conspiracy to commit the indictable offence of possessing property obtained by crime over five thousand dollars.
