Saskatoon firefighters spent the majority of their night putting out hot spots and looking for fire extension in a grass fire southeast of the city.
The Saskatoon Fire Department says the fire was out and crews left the scene shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday night but had to return this morning to put out some more hotspots.
The fire was east on Hwy 16 and south on Range Road 3041, approximately 25 kilometres southeast of Saskatoon.
The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to the fire over the noon hour on Tuesday and say it is a controlled burn that had gotten out of control. Upon arrival the fire was estimated to be 200 hectares in size. No estimate was given as to how big the fire grew.
