The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation says contract negotiations will resume today in Saskatoon.
A news release from STF indicates that the chairpersons from the Teachers’ Bargaining Committee and Government-Trustee Bargaining Committee held discussions Monday and Tuesday. And the two sides have agreed to return to the bargaining table. Negotiations are also scheduled to take place tomorrow.
As well, voting began today on whether teachers would provide the STF executive with a mandate to implement sanctions beyond the current school year. The existing sanctions mandate expires June 30th. The STF is preparing for the possibility that they won’t settle with the government before the next school year.
The Saskatchewan Teacher’s Federation says it will issue a news release Thursday regarding extending the mandate once voting is complete and members have been notified of the result.
