In 2022, a year after announcing he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, Darren Dutchyshen appeared on TV alongside his TSN co-anchor Jennifer Hedger and today Canadians mourn the loss of the legendary sports broadcaster. He got his start in Saskatoon as a sportscaster with what was then STV and got his start on TSN in 1995. Born in Regina and raised in Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan Darren Dutchysen died Wednesday at age 57.
On the TSN website, Stewart Johnston, Senior Vice President, Sales & Sports, Bell Media said, “Darren Dutchyshen was a legend of Canadian sports broadcasting, a great teammate, and an essential part of TSN for the last three decades.”
