SCHEDULE FOR THURSDAY, MAY 16
The Saskatchewan Roughriders’ Main Training Camp continues today and runs through Thursday, May 23rd at Griffiths Stadium on the U of S campus in Saskatoon. Today’s practice session runs from 8:30 a.m. to about Noon. The Green and White play their home pre-season game on Monday against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Kick-off time is 2 p.m. at Mosaic Stadium. The Riders’ regular-season starts Saturday, June 8th in Edmonton with the home opener on Sunday, June 23rd against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Kick-off time is 5 p.m. at Mosaic Stadium.

The Saskatchewan Rattlers continue training camp today at Merlis Belsher Place. New head coach Larry Abney is putting 13 players through their paces as the Snakes prepare for their sixth season in the Canadian Elite Basketball League. They open the regular campaign at SaskTel Centre on Wednesday against the Winnipeg Sea Bears. First tip-off is 7:30 p.m.

The Centennial Cup, Canadian Junior A Hockey Championship tournament, takes a breather today following completion of the preliminary round-robin. Play resumes tomorrow with playoffs, running through Sunday in Oakville, Ontario. The S-J-H-L-champion Melfort Mustangs are still in contention, having finished round-robin play in Group B with 3 wins, 1 extra time win, 0 losses for 11 points…good for 1st place. Their next game will be Saturday in the semi-finals against a yet to be determined opponent.
