Camryn Drever & Isabella Pozzi Sign with Skellefteå
AIK of the Swedish Hockey League
SKELLEFTEÅ, SWEDEN – Standout Huskie women’s hockey alumni Camryn Drever and
Isabella Pozzi are set to reunite on the ice, with the pair each inking one-year deals
with Skellefteå AIK of the Swedish Hockey League.
Skellefteå AIK was recently promoted to the Swedish Women’s Hockey League (Svenska
damhockeyligan or SDHL) after having previously competed in the NDHL (Nationella
Damhockeyligan). The team defeated AIK in two games in March to earn the promotion
to the highest level of women’s hockey in Sweden.
For goaltender Camryn Drever, she heads overseas following a record-setting season in
her final year wearing green and white. The Edmonton, Alberta product set a new Huskie
record for wins in a season, earning 15 victories while recording 5 shutouts, a 1.33 goals
against average, and the best save percentage in the nation. For her incredible
performance between the pipes, she was recognized as the Canada West Player and
Goaltender of the Year and would later add a U SPORTS second team All-Canadian nod
to her resume. The 2023-24 season cemented Drever as one of the best goalies in
Huskie history, finishing her career with 39 wins, a 1.47 goals against average, a .942
save percentage, and 1771 total saves, which all rank within the top 5 in program
history. In addition to her impressive career with the Huskies, Drever has appeared on
the international stage during her time at the University of Saskatchewan, representing
Canada at the 2023 FISU World University Games where she earned a gold medal.
Drever will be joined in Sweden by former Huskie blueliner Isabella Pozzi, who also
wrapped up an impressive career following the 2023-24 U SPORTS women’s hockey
season. Pozzi appeared in over 150 games across her Huskie career, earning 36 points (5
G, 31 A) and adding 5 more (2 G, 3 A) in the postseason. The product of Calgary, Alberta
was a staple on the Huskies backend after joining the team ahead of the 2018-19
season, representing the green and white in five Canada West playoff runs and two U SPORTS Championship appearances. At the 2022 U SPORTS Championships Pozzi was
named a tournament all-Star after helping lead the Huskies to a bronze medal finish and
was later named the team’s most impressive defenceman for the 2021-22 season. Pozzi
also suited up for Canada in international play as a member of the 2023 FISU team
where she served as an alternate captain and earned a gold medal.
Drever and Pozzi begin their Swedish Hockey League careers on Friday, September 20
when they take on the Malmö Redhawks.
