The Saskatoon Police Service say when emergency services responded to a house fire Monday morning there was a woman on the front step injured and unconscious.
The call came in at 3:40 a.m. about a house fire in the 100 block of Avenue Q South.
Police say the 35-year-old woman had suffered injuries considered serious, and consistent with assault. While the Saskatoon Fire Department dealt with extinguishing the fire, the woman was taken to hospital. However, due to her condition officers were unable to communicate with the victim.
