The first-ever W-C-B-L meeting between the Saskatoon Berries and Swift Current 57s is now the first-ever home-field rain-out in Berries’ franchise history.
Thanks to the rainy weather, Monday night’s Saskatoon-Swift Current contest has been postponed to June 24. These teams will meet for the first time Friday in Speedy Creek, which is appropriate considering Berries’ head coach Joe Carnahan spent seven years as a player and 13 years as a coach in Swift Current, winning the league title six times. The next action for 5-8 Saskatoon is Wednesday and Thursday at Cairns Field against Medicine Hat.
