Saskatoon Police officers attempted a traffic stop late Monday night in the 1800 block of Idylwyld Drive North, because the vehicle matched the description of one flagged in a hit and run in North Battleford earlier that same night.
A news release from the Police Service says when officers put on their emergency lights, the vehicle accelerated over a curb, which disabled it. Two women fled on foot, but were arrested shortly thereafter. Officers learned the vehicle had been reported stolen and report that one woman had a folding knife.
A 26-year-old woman is facing charges related to evading police, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and possession of stolen property over $5,000. The passenger was released with no charges.
