Three men are facing a variety of drug and weapon charges after search warrants were executed last week in the Kindersley area.
June 10th Kindersley RCMP with an assist from the Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and the RCMP Critical Incident Response Team, executed three search warrants: two in Kindersley and one in Netherhill.
Officers seized 198 grams of cocaine, two loaded firearms, an imitation firearm, ammunition, drug trafficking paraphernalia, a gold bar and cash.
The police investigation determined the firearms were reported as stolen as a result of a break in last month on May 23, at a business in Kindersley. A pick-up truck had also been reported as stolen in relation to the same incident; it was located, burnt, outside of Kindersley two days later.
Twenty-eight-year-old Jeffrey Proteau from Coleville was in court yesterday, 41-year-old Alex Smarch of Kindersley was in court last Thursday and 48-year-old Arthur Cisna is in court next month to face charges.
Jeffrey Proteau is charged with:
– one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88, Criminal Code;
– one count, careless storage of a prohibited weapon, Section 86(2), Criminal Code;
– one count, unlicensed possession of a loaded prohibited weapon, Section 95(b), Criminal Code;
– one count, break and enter and steal firearm, Section 98, Criminal Code; and
– one count, theft of a motor vehicle, Section 333.1, Criminal Code.
Alex Smarch is charged with:
– one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88, Criminal Code;
– one count, careless storage of a prohibited weapon, Section 86(2), Criminal Code; and
– one count, unlicensed possession of a firearm, Section 92(2), Criminal Code.
Arthur Cisna is charged with one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
