The latest respiratory illness provincial report, which covers May 19th to June 15th, states that the test positivity rate for is lower than the provincial threshold of 2 per cent and in the last reporting week, the test positivity rate for RSV was 9.9 per cent. However, COVID-19 is on the rise. There were 52 cases of the virus in the first reporting week and 98 in the week that ended on June 15th. Of the 98 cases, just over half were cases in the 20-64 age group, followed by 39 per cent in those 65 and older.
There were no deaths from the flu, RSV or COVID in the provincial report. The week of June 15th, 21 people in the hospital had COVID and 5 were in an ICU. There were three with RSV in the hospital but none in an ICU, and two people with the flu, with one of those patients in an ICU.
