The Water Security Agency will be monitoring potential flooding situations this weekend arising from heavy Thursday night and Friday.

Between 50 and 75 millimetres  of rain could fall across central Saskatchewan, with localized thunderstorms generating more precipitation.

The large amount of moisture in a short period will increase water flow and possibly result in localized flooding. The rainfall is also expected to impact the headwaters of the North and South Saskatchewan Rivers in Alberta.
