SUMA has launched a campaign to celebrate the essential role that communities serve, being a hub for services and recreation.
President of the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association, Randy Goulden, says we often think of urban municipalities as cities, but they are also our towns, villages, resort villages, and northern municipalities.
She notes that these urban municipalities are the hubs where people go to the library, to parks, skating rinks, to the doctor and to our schools.
They bring people together from the community and the surrounding area.
SUMA wants to recognize all the ways urban municipalities serve Saskatchewan.
That’s what the “We are URBAN” campaign is about.
You may see that message on social media and on billboards across the province this summer.
