Greg Fertuck will spend most of the rest of his life in jail with no chance of parole for 20 years, according to a judge’s ruling Thursday afternoon at Saskatoon’s Court of King’s Bench. Fertuck was convicted of first-degree murder and indignity to a body, in the death of his wife Sheree. She was reported missing in December of 2015 and her body has never been found.

With their victim impact statements, Sheree Fertuck’s sisters said their mother, Juliann Sorotski, died from the grief of losing Sheree. They said their mother was devastated at not knowing what happened to her.

Greg Fertuck says he will appeal.
