The Saskatchewan RCMP Historical Case Unit is advising the public to expect an increased police presence on Muskeg Lake Cree Nation in connection to the 2019 homicide of Joanne Wolfe-Lafond. Officers will be in the area over the next few days conducting a search.
On January 13, 2019, 56-year-old Joanne Wolfe-Lafond was found dead outside her home on Muskeg Lake Cree Nation. Her death was deemed suspicious. In a news release the RCMP says investigators with the Historical Case Unit appreciate those who have already provided information in connection to the investigation. Corporal Tanya Gordon says, ” Significant advancements in these types of investigations would not be possible without the help of witnesses and community members coming forward.”
Investigators continue to investigate the death of Joanne Wolfe-Lafond and ask anyone with information to report it to RCMP or submit a tip anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers.
