(The Saskatchewan Roughriders are off until Thursday when they visit the Montreal Alouettes at 5:30 p.m. The Green and White have 5 wins, 1 loss for 10 points…tied for 1st place in the West Division. Montreal has 5 wins, 1 loss for 10 points…good for 1st place in the East Division. The Riders’ next home game is Saturday, August 3rd against the Edmonton Elks. Kick-off time is 5 p.m. at Mosaic Stadium.)

The Western Canadian Baseball League is idle today, except for the annual All-Star Game and Home Run Derby in Okotoks, Alberta. Five members of the Saskatoon Berries will suit up for the East Division against the West Division. Berries’ outfielder Carter Beck will take part in the Home Run Derby as well. The W-C-B-L regular-season resumes tomorrow with six games. Saskatoon is off until Monday when they resume a suspended game from June 21st against the Weyburn Beavers at 6 p.m. at Cairns Field, followed by the regularly-scheduled contest, beginning 45 minutes after the completion of the suspended contest. The Berries have 22 wins, 21 losses…good for 3rd place in the East Division. Weyburn has 10 wins, 31 losses…good for 6th place in the East.

The 10th event of the 2024 Saskatoon Stock Car Racing Association season is the annual NASCAR Canada Series visit to Sutherland Automotive Speedway today. Gates open to the public at Noon. The NASCAR Canada Series practice session begins at 12:15 p.m. followed by hot laps for the Prairie Ram Dealers Super Truck at 1:45 p.m. Then, NASCAR Canada Series Qualifying goes at 4:35 p.m., followed by the Prairie Ram Dealers Super Truck Racing Series Westcan Mechanical Sales 75 starting at 5:05 p.m. The feature NASCAR Canada Series-Leland Industries 250 takes the green flag at 7:17 p.m.
