The 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games continue today and run through Saturday in Lloydminster. More than 18-hundred athletes, coaches and officials will take part in the multi-sport event. Athletes will represent the nine Sport, Culture and Recreation Districts from across the province, competing in 14 different sports. The first sports being contested today and tomorrow are archery, canoe-kayaking, soccer, softball, Special Olympics-bocce, swimming, tennis and volleyball with golf beginning tomorrow.

On the golf courses…
The Canadian Junior Women’s Golf Championship continues today and runs through Thursday in Vancouver. The four-day, 72-hole event is into round two today. Today is also the second and final round of the inter-provincial team competition. Saskatchewan’s team is comprised of Ella Kozak of Yorkton, Chloe Wills of Kyle and Grace Odnokon of Saskatoon.
The Golf Saskatchewan Provincial Senior Women, 60-plus Women, Senior Men’s and Mid-Master Men’s Championships start today and run through Thursday at the Evergreen Golf Course in Nipawin. A total of 124 competitors are taking part with today being the first of three rounds for 54 holes total.
