Two men from the Saskatoon vicinity were arrested and charged with child exploitation offences, not related to one another, by the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit.
Twenty-five-year-old Albert Wipf was arrested Tuesday at a residence in Grasswood while 19-year-old Ren Edward Ruiz was arrested on Wednesday at a residence in Saskatoon. In both cases, ICE began on-line investigations in June with Wipf charged with one count of possession of child pornography and one count of make available child pornography. Ruiz was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and one count of make available child pornography. Ruiz was released with numerous conditions. His next court date is August 21st in Saskatoon Provincial Court. Wipf was remanded for his next court appearance which has not yet been determined.
