A British Columbian man who set out to travel across Canada this summer has been out of touch with his family since July 24th, and Indian Head RCMP are asking for the public’s help in finding him.
Yesterday at 5:00am, 68-year-old Mitchel Austin’s vehicle was found abandoned on a grid road approximately four kilometres north of Vibank and reported to police. Vibank is just east of Regina.
Mitchel was traveling from British Columbia to Ontario with his dog, a five-year-old black German Shephard in a dark blue Volkswagen Golf with British Columbia licence plate JE2 95C.
Police say he might have been travelling along Highway #1 between July 25-July 26 and could have stopped at several gas stations along the way.
He is described as 5’10” tall and 175 lbs. He has hazel eyes, brown hair and may have a moustache.
Investigators ask homeowners in the Vibank and surrounding area to check their properties for signs of him, or anything that seems out of place.
