In the 2023/24 fiscal year, USask attracted $417 million in awarded research funding, which is the highest-ever total for a single year in the university’s history.
A news release from the university says there are a number of reasons, including several large-scale, interdisciplinary research grants from provincial and federal funding agencies and industry partners, and an increase in grants and other supports from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
USask Vice-President Research, Dr. Baljit Singh says, “The sky is truly the limit for both new and existing research, scholarly and artistic work on this campus and in this province.”
