Today (Thurs) is the 22nd annual Dairy Queen Miracle Treat Day in the province when, with every Blizzard® Treat sold, net proceeds go to Saskatchewan’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Saskatchewan member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Dan Kropp is Chief Operating Officer for Dairy Queen for both U.S. and Canada and says it’s the 40th anniversary for Miracle Treat Day in Canada
“And the cool thing about Miracle Treat Day is it started here in Canada. We had a group of franchisees that really embraced getting involved with their local hospital and they wanted to up the amount of money that we were raising so they came up with this idea of Miracle Treat Day.”
He says the U.S. franchises jumped on board two years later. Last year, Saskatchewan raised $250,000.
