Saskatoon Police responded to four stabbings on Saturday – all of them before seven in the morning. In a news release, Saskatoon Police report the first was just after midnight Saturday in the 100 block of Avenue Q North, where a male was found with a stab wound. He was transported by paramedics to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Then around 4:40 that morning, Saskatoon Police responded to the 500 block of Avenue X South. Officers report they found a male covered in blood, who said he had been assaulted with a machete. He was transported to hospital with serious injuries. It’s believed the two know each other.
At 6:50 that same morning, police were told about a female who had been stabbed in the 1800 block of 22nd Street West. While officers tended to the victim, who had non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital, others found the suspect in a building, but he fled. Shortly after, police say screaming was heard from a nearby parking lot and when they arrived the victim’s family member was in a physical altercation with the suspect. A 14-year-old boy is charged with aggravated assault and breaching court ordered conditions. Police learned there were another boy involved and a warrant has been issued for the 13-year-old.
The two males were also found to be suspects in a separate assault that same morning. The Serious Assault Unit is investigating.
